Well, That Was 2015…
Well, it’s been a while since my last blog. Almost exactly a year, in fact! I’ve been a very busy boy over the past year, so I hope you can forgive me.
Firstly, it’s probably old news by now, but after touring relentlessly with Brit Floyd for several years, I left the band back in June after a 5 month tour of the US, South America and Canada.
Despite my decision to leave the band, I have had some fantastic experiences on tour over the years and have made some friends for life. I am extremely proud of the sound we made as a group and the great shows we played together. I wish Brit Floyd and its amazing crew all the very best for the future.
Secondly, it was a great honour to play guitar on Sir Cliff Richard’s 75th birthday UK and Ireland tour, which began in Killarney in September and ended with a week-long run at London’s Royal Albert Hall on October 18th.
Cliff celebrated his 75th birthday live on stage on October 14th, in front of fans and friends. The full concert was filmed for DVD and released at the end of November, where it promptly shot to number 1 in the UK DVD charts.
Cliff’s entire band, crew and of course, the man himself, made me feel incredibly welcome from day one. The rehearsal period and the tour itself never felt like work and each show was like a party.
Nick has also been very busy, having recently completed yet another tour of Australia and the UK with The Queen Extravaganza, playing, among other Queen classics, the “A Night At The Opera” album in its entirety. No mean feat, I’m sure you’ll agree.
We’ve already begun filming our next batch of online guitar lessons for our members and we’re looking forward to sharing them with you soon.
Once again, both Nick and myself would like to take this opportunity to extend a very warm welcome to all our new members and also to thank our long-time, loyal FretHubbers for their continuing support. Don’t forget, in addition to FretHub’s homepage, you can also follow us on Twitter and ‘Like’ our Facebook page.
Thanks for reading and for continuing to learn guitar online with FretHub.
All the best,
